The squad HQ: your crew's own room, growing with you
On PLOXX, a squad isn't just a name on a list: it's a room. An HQ you decorate together, with a TV to watch videos in sync, a tablet for group video calls, a console to play together and a chest everyone drops plox into. At first the room is almost empty; every level your squad gains brings in a new object, and every object unlocks something new to do together.
What is a squad?
It's your crew inside PLOXX: up to 10 members, a name (3 to 24 characters), a tag of 2 to 5 letters or digits shown next to your usernames, one of 54 emblems (sorted into 9 families, from kawaii to royal) and one of 8 colors. Creating a squad is free. Whoever creates it becomes the leader and can appoint 2 officers to help out.
Most squads are born from random meetings: you run into someone funny in a 1v1, add them as a friend, then invite them. The page on how to build a team online walks through that path. This one is about what happens next, inside the HQ.
A room in your squad's style
The HQ is a single pixel-art room, and the leader picks its style from 9: gamer, kawaii, streetwear, alt, dark, cyber, Y2K, royal and rave. Each style has its own backdrop and its own version of the chest, the TV, the console and the sofa.
The first pick is free. Switching later costs 500 plox, taken from the squad chest (not from the leader's pocket): a group decision, not a whim you redo every day. The emblem and the color can each be changed at most once a week.
What each level unlocks in the room
One object, one feature. They arrive in this order:
- Level 1: the chest. The squad's shared fund, where everyone donates plox.
- Level 2: the tablet. The squad's group video call, up to 6 people at once.
- Level 3: the TV. Watch a YouTube video or a Twitch stream together, at the same moment.
- Level 5: the console. The HQ games, together or solo.
- Level 7: the radio. The squad's vinyls, played for everyone at the same time.
- Level 9: the board. The missions of the week.
- Level 11: the sofa. The whole squad, member by member.
Even levels also open a decoration slot (see below). To give you an idea: it takes 800 points to reach level 3, 2,200 for level 5, 4,200 for level 7, 6,800 for level 9 and 10,000 for level 11. A single regular player opens the TV in about four days, the console in eleven and the radio in three weeks. With more people, it goes faster.
Leveling up the squad: activity and the chest
A squad grows in two ways, each capped per member and per day, so that ten regular players count for more than one who never sleeps:
- By playing. Every EXP point you earn on PLOXX gives your squad one point, up to 200 points a day.
- By donating to the chest. Up to 500 plox a day, once your account is more than 24 h old. Every 2.5 plox donated makes one squad point, and the plox stay in the chest for the squad shop.
Clashes and missions count on top, outside the caps. One honest detail: every extra member makes levels 15% more expensive. A squad of ten levels up faster than a squad of two, but not ten times faster.
At level 9, the board shows 4 missions a week, drawn every Monday from a pool (clashes won, plox donated to the chest, a record broken, calls with three or more people, console games…). Two missions from the same family never land in the same week.
The console: 8 games, 3 of them free
At level 5, the console turns on. Three games are included, nothing to buy, and are played by 3 to 10 players in the HQ: Qui est le + (you vote for one of you), Imposteur (find the one without the word, like the impostor word game) and Dessin (one draws, the others guess, like the online drawing game). Not enough people? Absent members get an invite.
Five cartridges are bought with the chest, 5,000 plox each, and then belong to the squad forever:
- Neon Ride, a solo race, with the ghost of the squad's best run riding next to you;
- Neon, Plox Rain, Bumpo and Flash!, up to 4 players, topped up with bots if you're short.
Neon Ride and Plox Rain records are kept for every member, and beating the squad record is announced in the HQ. Cartridges don't pay out plox or EXP: you play for the score and the bragging rights. And when someone starts a game, it goes live on the HQ TV: up to 30 members can watch, even if they arrive halfway through.
The TV, the tablet and the radio
The TV (level 3) plays a YouTube video or a Twitch stream in sync for the whole HQ: pause it and everyone is paused. The leader and officers are in control, and can hand the remote to any members they choose. The details are on the page about how to watch YouTube together.
The tablet (level 2) starts the squad video call, up to 6 people. Your camera is never required to be in the HQ: you can stay in the chat, as your avatar.
The radio (level 7) plays the squad's vinyls: 37 original tracks, sorted by style, 1,500 plox each. Everyone hears the same track at the same moment, and you can listen to a 20-second preview before buying.
The squad shop and decorations
The chest buys things for the squad: cartridges, vinyls and decorations. There are 15 decorations, three per slot, and a slot opens at every even level: the wall at level 2 (800 plox), a standing piece at level 4 (1,200), the ceiling at level 6 (1,200), the floor at level 8 (1,000) and the rug at level 10 (1,000).
Only the leader buys, with the chest's plox. The leader and officers place decorations and move them around the room, making them a little bigger or smaller (75% to 125% of their size); the TV, console, radio and sofa stay put. Whatever is bought belongs to the squad, even if the biggest donor leaves.
Clashes between squads
The leader or an officer challenges another squad, by its tag or at random (the draw favors squads with a similar rating). The clash plays out immediately: a series of one-on-one duels, settled by the same engine as the Arena, with everyone's weapon, armor and pet. A smaller squad sends its members into several duels, and each duel already fought wears them down a little.
A squad can launch 5 clashes a day, and has to wait 24 h before challenging the same squad again. A win pays plox to every participant and EXP to the squad; even a loss leaves a little consolation EXP.
The rest of the week is played solo, for the squad: in the Arena, where you post your fighter and your friends challenge it whenever they pass by, and with Ploxx Cards, the collectible card game.
Frequently asked questions
How many people in a squad?
Up to 10 members: the leader, up to 2 officers, and everyone else. The tablet video call brings together up to 6 people at once.
Does creating a squad cost anything?
No, it is free. The first HQ style is free too; after that, switching style costs 500 plox, taken from the squad chest.
Who can buy in the squad shop?
Only the leader, with the plox in the chest. Everyone can donate to the chest (up to 500 plox a day, once the account is more than 24 h old), and the leader and officers place and move the decorations.
Do we need to be online at the same time?
For group games, the TV or the call, yes. But the chest, the weekly missions and the records move forward even when you play at different hours: everyone does their part when they drop by.
What is the minimum age?
PLOXX is for ages 15 and up: everyone declares their age, and under-15s are turned away.
