About PLOXX
PLOXX is a French video chat platform where a personalized avatar can face the camera instead of you. For ages 15 and up, free, and built like a game: you meet people, you play, you level up. This page is the reference on the brand - for the curious, the press and creators.
PLOXX in one minute
PLOXX (official address: ploxx.tv) is a random video chat and social gaming platform, born in French and available in 6 languages.
- Meeting people - in 1v1, in Duo 2v2, or with friends.
- An avatar - you can face the camera behind your personalized avatar instead of showing your face. The third way between "show yourself" and "turn your camera off".
- A game - ice-breaker mini-games, squads, quests, seasons: time spent turns into progression.
- Evenings - matches run every evening from 9pm to 11pm (Paris time), when everyone plays at once. The rest (avatar, messages, squads, the Arena, the shop) is open around the clock.
Public launch is set for September 1, 2026.
Safety, in plain words
PLOXX is for ages 15 and up: everyone declares their age once, before their first match, and under-15s are turned away. For 15 to 17 year olds, video always goes through our servers, so their IP address stays hidden from the other person.
Video moderation runs on your own device: the analysis happens locally and only a risk score is transmitted, never your images. Reporting takes two taps, and the avatar means you never have to show your face. The full details, including what we will not promise, are on Is PLOXX safe?
Who is behind PLOXX?
PLOXX is an independent site, built in France, with no media group or fund behind it. The project started from a simple observation: since Omegle shut down, 15-17 year-olds have had no online meeting place that takes them seriously - the big platforms moved to 18+, the rest does not moderate.
PLOXX bets the other way: make teen safety the core of the product, and make the rest fun.
