2v2 video chat: meet another duo, together
Talking to a stranger on your own can be intimidating. So PLOXX built Duo mode: you bring a friend, and the two of you meet another pair of strangers. Two against two, the ice breaks itself - and the best moments happen when you are not alone.
What exactly is 2v2?
PLOXX Duo mode teams you up with a friend of your choice. Once you are both ready, the algorithm connects you to another duo - two strangers who are also together. That puts four of you in the same video conversation.
The result changes everything: nobody is alone facing a stranger, the pressure drops, and awkward silences disappear because there is always someone to pick the conversation back up. It is the most fun way to meet new people - and the most reassuring.
Why it works better in pairs
- Far less intimidating. A first contact two-on-two is much less stressful than a solo face-to-face.
- No awkward silences. With four people, someone always has a topic. Conversations start faster and last longer.
- Shared jokes land better. Teasing, reacting, laughing together at a situation: the best video chat memories happen in a group.
- It simply feels safer. Having a friend you trust alongside you makes the whole thing calmer, especially the first time.
How to start a video chat with a friend
- Invite a friend. Send them your Duo invite link, or find them through their 6-character friend code if they are already on your list.
- Get ready together. Once you are both in the Duo lobby, you each pick your mode - webcam, avatar or text.
- Hit "Find a duo". The algorithm connects you to another pair and the four-way conversation starts. Skip any time to change duo.
Duo plus avatar: the comfort combo
As everywhere on PLOXX, you can do your 2v2 as an avatar, without showing your face. Picture it: you and your friend, each behind your own character, facing another duo - all the fun of meeting people, zero exposure. It is the ideal way in for anyone shy.
And because PLOXX is 15+ with ages kept separate, Duo mode follows the same rule: minors meet other minors.
Beyond the duo: squads and battles
2v2 is only the doorway into the social side of PLOXX. The people you meet and click with, you add as friends. With them you build a squad (up to 10), level it up, and challenge other teams in battles (Squad Clash).

Frequently asked questions
How does 2v2 video chat work on PLOXX?
You invite a friend into the Duo lobby, then the two of you look for another pair of strangers together. The four of you end up in the same video conversation. That is 2v2 mode.
Does my friend need an account?
They just open your Duo invite link in their browser - no signup. If they are already your friend on PLOXX (via their 6-character code), you can invite them directly.
Can you play 2v2 without showing your face?
Yes. As everywhere on PLOXX, each person can appear as an avatar or in text only. You and your friend can do the whole 2v2 without ever showing your real face.
Is Duo mode free?
Yes, entirely. 2v2, matching, video and friends are all free with no limits.
What is the minimum age?
15 and up, like all of PLOXX. Ages are kept separate: minors (15-17) meet other minors, including in Duo mode.
