Challenge your friends online, even when they're not around

The problem with challenging your friends isn't motivation, it's timing: when you're free, they're in class, at work or already asleep. The PLOXX Arena fixes that by removing the "at the same time" condition. You post a challenge, it lives for 24 hours, and your friends take it up whenever they pass by. You find out the result when you wake up, in a single message.

The Arena: a challenge that waits for no one

You enter the Arena with your fighter: your level, your weapon, your armor, plus a boost of your choice (Heal or Guard). It stays there for 24 hours. During that time anyone can challenge you: the duel plays out immediately with the clash engine, whether you're online or not.

You get notified, you watch the replay, you take your revenge with one tap. And if you were away, everything that happened without you fits in one message: challenges received, wins, losses, the week's summary. Never more than two notifications a day.

The caps keep it a game: 10 challenges sent and 5 entries per day, 3 duels per opponent. A fighter challenged more than 4 times in a day shows up tired.

Four ways to challenge someone

The same limit applies to all three games: 3 cards posted and 10 guesses per day and per game. Statements and words come from a bank, never from free text, and a drawing reported twice disappears.

Points that follow strength, not level

A balanced duel gives the winner 15 points and takes 8 from the loser (never below zero), with 6 Plox, 20 EXP and a chest for the winner, 2 Plox for the other. Beating someone stronger than you adds 5 points.

What changes everything is the scale against much weaker opponents: crushing someone whose Strength is 1.6 times below yours earns only 3 points, 2 Plox and no chest. Conversely, holding your own against someone much stronger costs no points at all and earns 3 Plox. The stakes are shown before every duel, on the opponent's card: "easy", "balanced", "tough". Nobody is hidden, but the incentive naturally points to the duels that are worth something.

Every Monday, a King

The Arena leaderboard resets every Monday. The week's number one becomes King of the Arena: a badge shown next to their name in the leaderboard, which counts their reigns and can't be bought anywhere. A week later, the throne is up for grabs again.

It's a leaderboard among friends as much as among strangers: your squad sees who's climbing, and anyone can come and contest your spot.

With your friends, or with anyone

The Arena is open to everyone in it, friends or not. Two rules never change: PLOXX is for ages 15 and up, and a minor never meets an adult, in the Arena or in matchmaking. You appear as your avatar; your camera is never required. And if the other person doesn't write in your language, the chat is translated automatically.

There's nothing to pay: points, Plox, chests and the King's badge are earned, and no chest is for sale. The site runs in your phone's or computer's browser, with nothing to install and no account to create.

And in the evening, the real face-off

The Arena fills the day. In the evening, from 9 pm to midnight (Paris time), matchmaking opens: 1v1, 2v2 with a friend, squad clashes up to ten against ten. From the afternoon on, one tap on "I'm playing tonight" signs you up for the evening, and PLOXX tells you as soon as someone from the list is there, even before 9 pm.

If you're never free at the same hours, the page on games to play with long-distance friends shows how to play anyway; if you're all in the call, here are the games to play on a video call.

And if you have no one to challenge yet, start with the random chat app: one click, someone is there, free and with nothing to sign up for.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need to be online at the same time?

No. A fighter, a card or a drawing lives for 24 hours; your friends take it up when they pass by, and you see the result when you come back. That's the whole point of the Arena.

How many challenges per day?

10 challenges sent and 5 Arena entries per day, 3 duels per opponent. For truths, drawing and Would You Rather: 3 cards posted and 10 guesses per day and per game.

What do you win?

Points for the weekly leaderboard, Plox (the in-game currency, never purchased), EXP and chests. The week's number one gets the King of the Arena badge.

Can I write whatever I want?

No, on purpose: the truth statements and the words to draw come from a bank. The only free content is a drawing, and two reports are enough to hide it.

Does it cost anything?

Nothing. Chests are not for sale, the King's badge can't be bought, and there's no install and no account to create. Only avatar cosmetics are optional.

From what age?

15. Players aged 15 to 17 play among themselves, adults among themselves: a minor never meets an adult in the Arena.
