Your virtual pet: one egg, one surprise, one battle buddy
Every PLOXX player gets an egg. You tap it, it hatches, and you find out what comes out: maybe Pompo, the little bunny, maybe something much rarer. After that, it's up to you: feed it, play with it, let it nap, watch it grow into its adult form. And all along, it fights with you: in every duel, it gets its own hits in.
An egg for every player, and it hatches right away
The egg is waiting for you as soon as you've created your avatar, in your pet's tab. There are no conditions: no matches to play, no timer, nothing to pay. You tap it, it cracks, it hatches. At first you had to meet people before it would hatch; that was unfair to anyone playing at hours when few people are online, so the rule was dropped.
What comes out of the egg is drawn by the server, at the moment it hatches, not by your phone: nobody can rig the result. And if you land a legendary, the whole world chat hears about it.
What's inside? Four rarities, species to discover
The odds are shown in the app exactly as they're drawn:
- Common: 55%. That's Pompo, the baby bunny. The only pet everyone sees from day one.
- Rare: 28%.
- Epic: 13%.
- Legendary: 4%.
Each rarity has its own species, but we won't tell you which: until you've hatched it yourself, it stays pixelated, with a "?" on top. Same for evolutions: your pet's teen and adult forms are only revealed on the day it reaches them. That's on purpose. The surprise is half the fun.
Baby, teen, adult: three forms, two evolutions
Your pet is born a baby, at level 1. It becomes a teen at level 10 and reaches its adult form at level 20, with a new name and a new look each time. Going from level L to the next takes 90 + 13 × L EXP: 1,395 in total for the teen, 4,180 for the adult.
It earns EXP when you play: 20 for a match, 10 for a duel (15 if you win), 10 for a fight, 15 for a game with it, 5 for a meal. The total is capped at 150 EXP a day: someone who plays half an hour a day moves at the same pace as someone who plays all night. Give it a few weeks to see the adult form.
Feed it, play with it, let it sleep
Your pet has three meters, from 0 to 100: hunger, mood and energy. They drop slowly over time (a baby gets hungry faster than an adult), and you fill them back up in three ways:
- A meal costs 25 Plox and adds 45 to hunger.
- Playing is free, 3 times a day: +35 mood, a little less energy. Six mini-games rotate: Perfect timing, Cuddles, Ball toss, Hide and seek, Catch the treats and Cups and treat.
- A nap is free, once every 3 hours, and gives back 50 energy.
When all three meters are above 60, it's happy and earns 10% more EXP. If one drops below 15, it falls asleep: it loses that bonus, but it keeps fighting. A pet never dies, never runs away and never loses a level. You can leave for a week; it will wait for you.
What it does in a fight
Wherever your fighter fights, your pet is there: in Arena duels, in your squad's clashes, in 1v1 and 2v2 fights. It strikes after every third hit from its owner, and its damage depends on its rarity and form:
- a common baby hits for 0 to 20, a rare baby 5 to 25, an epic baby 10 to 30, a legendary baby 15 to 35;
- each evolution adds 10 to both ends, except the legendary adult, which hits for 40 to 60.
Does it decide everything? No, and that's measured: at equal form and equal strength, a legendary beats a common about 54 to 55 times out of 100. A real boost, not a bought win. Your weapon, armor and level still matter more. Other players see your pet next to you on your fighter card.
Rerolling: try your luck again
Not happy with your draw? You can reroll: your pet is replaced by a new egg that hatches right away. Rerolls are paid in Plox only, the currency you earn by playing, and the price goes up each time: 500, 1,000, 2,500, 5,000, 10,000, then double for every reroll after that.
Two things to know before you click. The new pet starts again at level 1. And there's no guarantee: no pity counter, no legendary promised after N tries. A reroll is a fresh draw at the same odds: 55, 28, 13 and 4%.
And with PLOXX Pro?
PLOXX Pro subscribers also get a golden egg, outside the draw, which always hatches the same exclusive pet: a dragon, whose hits sit between the epic's and the legendary's. It can't be rerolled, and it fights as long as the subscription is active; if the subscription ends, your previous pet takes its place again on its own, and the dragon keeps its levels for later. Subscribers also get 3 free rerolls a month for their regular pet.
Pets even have their place in Ploxx Cards: a whole theme of Special cards is dedicated to them, to collect in the album.
